Norwich City beat MK Dons 4-1 in this English League Cup second-round tie at Carrow Road, three goals to the good by half-time settling the contest early. Mohamed Touré opened the scoring inside the opening minute, Anis Ben Slimane doubled the lead in the sixth minute, and Ben Chrisene made it 3-0 in the 42nd minute.
Ryan Wintle pulled one back for MK Dons in the 55th minute, but Norwich restored their three-goal cushion three minutes later when Andre Brooks scored in the 58th. Norwich had much the better of the ball, 64.8% possession to MK Dons's 35.2%, and led 25 attempts on goal to eight, seven of them on target against five.
José Córdoba, Jack Stacey and Kenny McLean were booked for Norwich in the first half, and Brooks was shown a yellow card in the 59th minute for excessive celebration after his goal; Charlie Goode was the lone MK Dons player cautioned, in the 83rd minute. Norwich made a flurry of changes around the hour mark, sending on Jacob Wright and Mathias Kvistgaarden for Ben Slimane and Touré in the 60th minute and Paris Maghoma for Brooks a minute later, while MK Dons had already freshened their side at the interval and again in the 56th minute.
