Norwich City beat Cardiff City 2-1 at Cardiff City Stadium in round three of the League Cup, eliminating the hosts from the competition and sending Norwich through to the next round.
Mathias Kvistgaarden opened the scoring for Norwich in the 24th minute. Ante Crnac, sent on as a 60th-minute substitute for the scorer, doubled the visitors' lead in the 77th minute. Cardiff's Yousef Salech, on as a substitute from the 67th minute, pulled a goal back in the 92nd minute, but the comeback fell short.
Cardiff had three of the match's four bookings: Perry Ng (26th minute), Isaak Davies (32nd minute) and substitute Rubin Colwill (83rd minute) were all shown yellow cards. Norwich's Pelle Mattsson was booked in the 49th minute for persistent infringement. No player was sent off.
Norwich made wholesale changes at the interval, sending on Andre Brooks and Anis Ben Slimane for Anthony Musaba and Oscar Schwartau. Cardiff used all five of their substitutes across the second half, including Rubin Colwill from the 52nd minute and Yousef Salech from the 67th minute. Rob Tankiewicz was Cardiff's last change, replacing Chris Willock in the 92nd minute.
