Northampton Town have signed the striker Nathan Opoku from Leicester City on a three-year deal, for a fee that has not been disclosed.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian joined Leicester from Syracuse University in the United States in 2023. He was loaned out straight away to the Foxes' Belgian sister club OH Leuven, where he scored five goals, before spending last season on loan at Newport County.
At Newport, Opoku scored six goals in 30 League Two appearances and finished the season as the Exiles' top scorer.
Northampton manager Chris Hogg said the club had done its homework on the striker. "We have tracked Nathan for a while so we know all about him, we have done our homework and we know he is hardworking, has an excellent attitude and is a good person, he is a good character and a good player," Hogg told the club website.
