Northampton Town and Swindon Town shared a goalless draw at Sixfields Stadium in front of 7,120 as both sides opened their League Two campaign without a win.
Northampton had the better of the chances, managing nine attempts on goal to Swindon's four and putting three of them on target, but goalkeeper Connor Ripley saved all three for the visitors; none of Swindon's four attempts hit the target.
Swindon's Mitchell Clark was booked for a foul in the 36th minute and team-mate Tom Nichols followed in the 72nd; Nichols was then substituted in the 90th, one of five Swindon changes on the afternoon. Northampton, set up in a 4-4-2 to Swindon's 4-1-4-1, made four substitutions of their own in the closing 20 minutes.
The draw leaves both level after matchday one: Northampton 15th and Swindon 16th in the early League Two table, both on a single point from their opening game.
