League Two's bottom club Newport County produced a resounding 3-1 win at promotion-chasing Salford City, with goals from Ryan Delaney, Ben Lloyd and Nathaniel Opoku pulling the Exiles to within three points of safety.
Ben Woodburn's stoppage-time volley from outside the box gave Salford a consolation, but it was a damaging afternoon for Karl Robinson's hosts, who had been three days removed from a 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City.
Delaney heads visitors in front
Newport began brightly and took the lead after 13 minutes when January signing Ryan Delaney headed home Tom Davies' corner for his first goal since rejoining the club. It was the Exiles' first shot on target and ended their seven-hour wait for a goal.
