Newport County have signed the Fulham midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias on a short-term loan, reuniting him with head coach Hayden Mullins, who previously coached him at Fulham's under-21 side.
Dibley-Dias, Newport's 11th signing of the summer, made 31 appearances across two seasons under Mullins and was part of the Fulham side that lifted the Premier League Cup in 2023-24. He joined Fulham's academy at 14, has been named in the Cottagers' first-team matchday squads on four occasions, signed his first professional contract in 2021, and was named the club's Johnny Haynes Academy Player of the Year for 2022-23.
The 22-year-old spent last season away from Fulham on loan: five appearances for League Two side Chesterfield in the first half of the campaign, then eight for National League club Braintree Town, where he contributed one assist. He also had a loan spell at Northampton Town in 2024-25.
His arrival adds to Mullins' midfield options following the summer additions of Harrison Biggins and Kieron Evans, and he could make his Newport debut when Mullins' side host Tranmere Rovers at Rodney Parade on Saturday.
