Newport shaded a competitive first half before Barnet took control after the break, the visitors pressing for a winner that ultimately proved elusive for both teams on Boxing Day.
Hosts Denied by the Goalline
The first half was an even affair with both teams probing for an opener, but it was the hosts who carved out the clearest openings. Leicester City loanee Sammy Braybrooke delivered a wonderful ball to Michael Spellman, who failed to convert after rounding Barnet goalkeeper Cieran Slicker.
