Oldham Athletic beat Swindon Town 3-0 at Boundary Park in League Two on Saturday, matchday three of the season. Elliott Nevitt opened the scoring in the 40th minute, before Calum Kavanagh doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 83rd, after Oldham won a penalty conceded by Swindon. Mike Fondop, sent on as a substitute for Nevitt in the 67th minute, added a third in second-half stoppage time, in the 94th.
Oldham were dominant throughout, finishing with 25 attempts on goal to Swindon's two, nine on target to Swindon's one, and 14 corners to four; Swindon had the better of possession, 55.5% to Oldham's 44.5%.
Swindon picked up three of the match's bookings: Ollie Clarke in the 70th minute, Kaelan Majekodunmi in the 74th and Connor Ripley in the 82nd. There were no red cards. Oldham made four substitutions, three of them together in the 67th minute; Swindon made five across the second half.
The win lifts Oldham Athletic to sixth in the League Two table with six points from three matches, two wins and a defeat. Swindon slip to 14th on four points, level on a win, a draw and a defeat.
