Millwall returned to the Championship's automatic promotion places and guaranteed at least a play-off spot with a hard-earned 3-1 victory at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium. Goals from Camiel Neghli and Femi Azeez looked to have the Lions cruising, before a Caleb Taylor own goal briefly threatened an unlikely Potters comeback.
Josh Coburn, who had earlier squandered chances, made amends with the decisive strike to restore Alex Neil's side's two-goal cushion and send Millwall second in the table, with Ipswich Town not in action until midweek. For Stoke, a season of promise continued to unravel with only two wins now from their last 10 games.
A Bright Start Punished
Stoke, who handed first starts to academy duo Pijus Otegbayo and fellow 18-year-old defender Syd Agina, almost took a 12th-minute lead but Anthony Patterson smartly turned away a shot from Robert Bozenik, who was making his first start since January 1. Millwall countered quickly and Coburn missed his first chance of the night after an inviting cross from Tristan Crama.
