Rodrigo Muniz delivered a stoppage-time twist at the Amex, smashing in from Harry Wilson’s corner in the 96th minute to rescue a 1-1 draw for Fulham. For much of the afternoon, the points looked destined for Brighton after Matt O’Riley swept home a 55th-minute penalty, awarded when Sander Berge brought down Georginio Rutter.
Brighton fashioned a stack of chances to close it out but lacked the ruthless touch, and their late profligacy was punished. Kenny Tete volleyed wide in the 95th minute in a warning of what was to come, before Muniz, on as a 66th-minute substitute, met the ensuing set-piece to grab a dramatic point and prompt the away end to serenade him.
Brighton’s wastefulness leaves the door ajar
The Seagulls’ first-half platform was solid, and their best early opening arrived when O’Riley whipped in a teasing cross that Kaoru Mitoma headed over. Brighton also thought they had an early breakthrough, only for Yankuba Minteh to be denied because Carlos Baleba had taken the ball out of play in the build-up.
