Moylan's double gives Cardiff a first win of the season as Charlton are outplayed

Jack Moylan scored twice and set up another as Cardiff City beat Charlton Athletic 3-1 to claim their first win of the season, at the eighth attempt in the Championship.

Cardiff had 62% of the possession and 27 shots to Charlton's six, eight of them on target to three. Charlton had won their first three league games but have now gone five without a win, and their manager called the display "inept".

Moylan Strikes Early, Salech Doubles the Lead

Charlton had the opening chance, Miles Leaburn getting it after Karlan Grant and Tyreece Campbell combined down the left, but it was Cardiff who settled. Yousef Salech's touch played Moylan in on the edge of the area and he finished into the corner in the seventh minute.
