MK Dons have signed the winger Ryan Barnett on a season-long loan from Wrexham, manager Paul Warne's seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
Barnett, 26, can play as a winger or a wing-back and joins the League One club after three-and-a-half seasons at Wrexham, where he made 112 appearances following his move from Solihull Moors in February 2023. He was part of the Wrexham squad that won three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.
"Ryan's a player that I tried to sign before. He's a really athletic wing-back who wants to cross the ball," Warne told MK Dons' website. "He wants to run forward with the ball, which is right up our street and gives us another attacking option out wide."
Barnett started his career at Shrewsbury Town before a move to Solihull Moors in 2021. He had remained among Wrexham's available wing-back options as recently as January, when the club weighed reinforcing the position following James McClean's departure.
