Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen saved all four QPR penalties as the Lions won 2-0 on penalties at Loftus Road, sealing their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Millwall broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Luke Cundle tapped in from close range after QPR goalkeeper Pierce Charles, making his competitive debut on loan from Manchester City, fumbled Camiel Neghli's cross into his path. QPR levelled in the 86th minute, Jimmy Dunne's header from Ilias Chair's corner deflecting in off Mark Sykes for an own goal that forced the shootout.
Jensen was the outstanding performer from twelve yards, keeping out efforts from Chair, Harvey Vale and Koki Saito before saving Kwame Poku's spot kick to complete a faultless night's work. Charles had the chance to make amends at the other end, saving penalties from Neghli and Taïryk Arconte, but Jake Cooper and Sykes converted their kicks to send Millwall through.
It was a chastening evening for Charles individually: his error early in the second half set up Millwall's opener, and though he saved two penalties in the shootout, it was not enough to spare QPR. For Millwall, Jensen's four stops from four sent them into the second-round draw.
