Jamie McDonnell struck twice as Mansfield chalked up a third win in eight days with a 2-0 victory over Blackpool. The Nottingham Forest loanee's brace early in the second half delivered the Stags' first home win of the campaign.
The wins at Cheltenham in the Carabao Cup and at Exeter in the league were now followed by three points at home, with McDonnell's clinical finishing the difference after a first half that had ended goalless despite Mansfield's control.
Stags Dominate but Cannot Break Through
Mansfield dominated the opening period, with Regan Hendry forcing visiting goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell into a fine save with a shot from distance after only five minutes.
