McCracken sends Burnley out as Bradford win the shootout to stay perfect

· Match Report

Bradford City beat Burnley 4-2 on penalties at Valley Parade after the Carabao Cup second-round tie finished goalless, keeping their season unbeaten and deepening the early trouble of a Championship side relegated from the Premier League.

Jon McCracken was the difference. The Bradford goalkeeper made a string of saves and then stopped Jacob Bruun Larsen's penalty in the shootout, with Adam Phillips scoring the kick that settled it.

Burnley Press Early at Valley Parade

Burnley were the better side early on. Connor Roberts had a curling effort from just inside the area tipped over by McCracken and then tested him again from 25 yards, though that one flew straight at the keeper. Amdouni and Mike Tresor each went close, and Reece Welch denied Amdouni from close range.
