Micah Mbick's first ever league goal helped Colchester United end Bristol Rovers' four-match winning streak after a 1-1 draw at the JobServe Community Stadium.
Fabrizio Cavegn had put Rovers ahead rather against the run of play in the 40th minute, but Mbick levelled in the 52nd minute as Colchester pressed for a winner that never came.
Colchester Set the Early Tone
Colchester went close early on when Kyreece Lisbie capitalised on Alfie Kilgour's uncertainty just inside the Rovers half before bursting towards goal and firing in a shot which forced a decent save from goalkeeper Luke Southwood.
