Substitute Callum Maycock scored AFC Wimbledon's 88th-minute winner as bottom-of-the-table Port Vale's League One relegation woes worsened with a 1-0 defeat at Vale Park.
Maycock's first league goal of the season was the Londoners' first shot on target, a clinical reward for visitors who found a way to win on an afternoon that further deepened the hosts' struggles at the foot of the table.
A Familiar Lack of Cutting Edge
Vale remain 10 points from safety and desperately need to blood experienced new striker Andre Gray as their lack of a cutting edge was again evident. They have netted only 20 goals in 27 games, five of those in one match against Blackpool.
