Gillingham's Max Clark went from villain to hero as the left-back volleyed in from 20 yards to seal a 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.
It was a turbulent afternoon for the 29-year-old, who had earlier seen a penalty saved before producing the decisive moment to settle a tight contest in the Gills' favour.
Penalty Drama and a Spurned Opening
Clark saw his 30th-minute penalty saved by Rovers goalkeeper Luke Southwood, the spot-kick struck straight down the middle of the goal. The award had come after Clinton Mola was penalised for fouling Sam Gale on the edge of the six-yard box at a corner.
