Mason Mount is a doubt for Manchester United's preseason friendly against Leeds United at Croke Park in Dublin on Wednesday, having been unable to train since picking up a foot injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg.
The 27-year-old was withdrawn after around 20 minutes as a precaution, having been caught on the foot in an early challenge, and was seen leaving the stadium unaided. It is understood he has not trained since and is unlikely to feature against Leeds, with his availability for United's final preseason fixture against Ruben Amorim's AC Milan in Wroclaw next Saturday also unclear.
The absence would interrupt a strong run of form for Mount in Michael Carrick's preseason, in which he has settled into a deeper midfield role alongside new signing Andrey Santos as United look to rebuild the position following Casemiro's departure. Mount has made just 72 appearances in three years since arriving from Chelsea in 2023, with his United career repeatedly disrupted by injury.
Elsewhere in Carrick's squad, Lisandro Martinez has returned to training in Ireland after an extended break following Argentina's run to the World Cup final, in which he picked up an injury. Marcus Rashford, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, and Kobbie Mainoo have also trained this week, though it remains unclear whether either has had sufficient time on the training pitch to be considered for selection against Leeds.
