Ephron Mason-Clark's close-range second-half finish and a superb goalkeeping display from Carl Rushworth gave Championship leaders Coventry City a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bristol City at the CBS Arena.
Mason-Clark struck in the 64th minute, pouncing after Bobby Thomas had headed against the post from a corner, to edge an enthralling contest in which both sides hit the woodwork and created chances in abundance. The Robins thought they had led through Sinclair Armstrong before the break, only for the striker's effort to be ruled out for handball, while both goalkeepers were forced into a series of impressive saves.
The result keeps Frank Lampard's side five points clear at the top of the Championship and extends their winning run at home to seven matches, their best sequence at the CBS Arena since 2021. For Gerhard Struber's visiting team, who mustered nine shots on target to Coventry's four, it was a third successive game without a win, leaving them 11th in the table and four points adrift of the play-off places.
