Josh Maja's first goal in nine months and a superb goalkeeping display from Josh Griffiths earned West Bromwich Albion a hard-fought 1-0 win at Carrow Road and deepened Norwich City's early-season troubles.
Maja struck in the 20th minute from Albion's first meaningful attack, and from that point on Norwich largely controlled the contest without finding a way past the outstanding Griffiths, whose string of second-half saves condemned Liam Manning's side to another damaging home defeat.
Clinical Albion Punish Norwich with First Real Attack
The opening stages were subdued, with neither side able to find much rhythm, before the game suddenly sprang into life midway through the first half. Norwich thought they had fashioned the first clear opportunity when Josh Sargent broke into space, only for Nat Phillips to produce a well-timed block that snuffed out the chance.
