Crewe Alexandra beat Accrington Stanley 2-1 at the Mornflake Stadium in this English League Cup second-round tie, in front of a crowd of 2,961.
Jack Lankester converted a penalty in the 6th minute to put Crewe ahead. Farrend Rawson levelled for Accrington in the 64th minute, before substitute Luca Moore struck the winner in the 84th, three minutes after coming on for Jordan Gibson.
Shots were close overall: Crewe had 15 attempts to Accrington's 16, with three on target to the visitors' four. Accrington had much the better of the corner count, winning six to Crewe's one, with possession shared almost evenly, 50% each.
All three cautions of the afternoon went to Accrington: Rawson (49th minute, foul), Joe Anderson (73rd, foul) and Donald Love (91st, dissent). There were no red cards.
