Shrewsbury moved out of the League Two relegation zone following a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Cambridge. George Lloyd and Will Boyle scored first-half goals as the struggling Shrews picked up their first home league victory of the season.
The lacklustre visitors never looked likely to rescue a point after failing to get a single shot on target during a flat second half.
First-Half Goals Settle It
Lloyd put the hosts ahead after taking advantage of a defensive mix-up after 12 minutes. Zak Bradshaw had a long-range effort saved by Will Brook as the game went through a quiet spell.
