Liverpool produced a scintillating Anfield performance to put four goals past Galatasaray and overturn a one-goal first-leg deficit, sealing a 4-1 aggregate win and a Champions League quarter-final against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Dominik Szoboszlai levelled the tie with a well-worked set-piece, Mohamed Salah had a penalty saved on the brink of half-time, and three goals in 11 second-half minutes from Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch and Salah put the contest beyond a sorry Galatasaray side.
Szoboszlai sets the tone
Galatasaray came to Anfield intent on taking time out of the game, with stoppages, theatrics and collapses at the slightest contact pushing Polish referee Pawel Raczkowski — a late replacement for the injured Szymon Marciniak — close to losing control.
