· Match Report

Lincoln City took a big step towards promotion as they dethroned Cardiff City at the top of League One with a 2-0 win in the top-of-the-table clash at Cardiff City Stadium. Two second-half strikes left a bumper crowd of 27,280 stunned and sent the Imps two points clear at the summit.

The Imps arrived on the back of a 17-match unbeaten league streak while the Bluebirds were defending a run of 12 games without defeat at home in the third tier. In the end it was Lincoln who extended their record of 13 clean sheets this season, courtesy of goals from Rob Street and substitute Dom Jefferies.

Wickens Stands Firm in a Cagey Contest

It was a game of few chances, and it took until the 34th minute before either goalkeeper was called into action. Lincoln's George Wickens produced a full-length dive to tip an Ollie Tanner shot around a post, then a minute later kept out a Rubin Colwill effort. Seconds after that, Colwill saw another shot deflected narrowly wide.
