Lincoln City thrash 10-man Blackpool to advance in League Cup

Lincoln City beat Blackpool 4-1 at Bloomfield Road in the second round of the English League Cup, in front of a crowd of 2,407.

Isaac Olaofe put Lincoln ahead in the 35th minute, but Leighton Clarkson levelled for Blackpool in the 44th to send the sides in level at half-time.

Zac Ashworth was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 51st minute, and Lincoln capitalised immediately: Tom Bayliss restored their lead in the 52nd, Rob Street made it 3-1 to Lincoln two minutes later, and Callum Elder completed the scoring in the 76th.

Blackpool played the rest of the match with ten men; Josh Bowler and Hayden Coulson were also booked in the second half, in addition to Mason Melia's earlier yellow card for Lincoln.
