Leyton Orient defender Phil Chinedu signs new long-term contract

Leyton Orient have handed the defender Phil Chinedu a new long-term contract at Brisbane Road. "This feels amazing and I want to thank the club, the coaching staff and everyone for trusting me," Chinedu said.

The 19-year-old academy graduate signed his first professional terms in 2025 and has had loan spells at Wealdstone and Barnet, making 17 appearances and scoring twice during last season's stint at Barnet as they finished eighth in League Two following promotion from the National League.

"Since I signed my first contract, I have played as many senior games as I can to try and show the club what I can do and that they can trust me. Now I just want to kick on," Chinedu said.

"My time at Barnet was really enjoyable. I loved it. I scored a few goals and I learned a lot about the men's game. I am feeling confident and that I am ready to try and make an impact on the squad," he added.
