Bayer 04 Leverkusen opened their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 home win over Celje at the BayArena on matchday one.
Celje's Svit Seslar turned the ball into his own net in the 14th minute to give Leverkusen the lead, and defender Facundo Medina doubled it in the 73rd. No cards were shown in the match.
Leverkusen had 17 attempts to Celje's five, hit the woodwork twice and held 56% of the possession. Celje's goalkeeper made seven saves; Leverkusen's made three.
Leverkusen made five substitutions, three of them between the 59th and 60th minutes, when Jarell Quansah, Afonso Moreira and Equi Fernández came on. Celje's Benjamin Verbic went off injured in the 68th minute and was replaced by Veton Tusha.
