Leicester City have signed the striker Admir Bristric from the Slovenian club Olimpija Ljubljana on a four-year deal, for a fee that has not been disclosed. The 23-year-old becomes Russell Martin's eighth signing of the summer window at the King Power Stadium.
Bristric spent last season on loan at fellow Slovenian side Bravo, scoring 10 goals in 24 appearances and helping the club qualify for the Uefa Conference League. He has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth level.
The signing fills a gap up front. An end-of-season clear-out left Leicester without a senior striker on their books after Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew both departed, part of a wider summer in which the club also moved on high earners including Jannik Vestergaard, whose contract was terminated by mutual consent, and Harry Winks, sold to Italian side Cagliari, as it worked to comply with spending rules that had led to a points penalty last season. Martin said in July that he wanted more firepower up front rather than a single like-for-like replacement. "Ideally, we'd have two or three strikers," he said. "We don't just want one of the same, and it's the same with wingers."
His arrival follows the recent signings of Wes Burns, Tommy Watson and Liam Cullen as Martin continues to rebuild the squad at the King Power Stadium.
