Sheffield United came from behind to beat 10-man Hull City 2-1 in a match that swung dramatically in the closing stages. Hull had led since the fifth minute through former Blade Oli McBurnie, but Gus Hamer's 85th-minute penalty and a late finish from substitute Danny Ings turned the game on its head.
The contest changed sharply when another former United player, John Lundstram, was sent off for a second bookable offence with 15 minutes left, even though he argued that referee John Brooks had impeded him before the foul on Jairo Riedewald. The result ended Sheffield United's six-game winless run and moved them up to 16th, while Hull are now winless in three and remain four points above seventh-placed Wrexham, having played a game more.
McBurnie strikes early after Hull seize on a mistake
Hull made the sharper start and took the lead inside five minutes. Sydie Peck's pass was intercepted by Liam Millar, who drove forward before slipping McBurnie in, and the former Sheffield United forward finished to put the visitors ahead.
