Chesterfield scored two late goals to claim a 3-1 win at home to 10-man Bristol Rovers, with Kyle McFadzean and Armando Dobra striking in the closing stages to deny the visitors an unlikely point.
Rovers had battled back to level midway through the second half despite playing the majority of the match a man short, but Chesterfield's strength in the final 10 minutes proved decisive.
Red Card Tilts the Balance
The hosts were first to threaten when McFadzean's header was tipped over by Luke Southwood. Rovers' Promise Omochere then fired wide from an excellent position before the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 39th minute when Joel Senior was sent off for fouling Dobra as he advanced towards the area.
