Larin double sinks Bristol City: Southampton punish a side that outshot them 21 to 10

· Match Report

Cyle Larin scored twice as Southampton beat Bristol City 4-1 in the Championship at St Mary's, with Kuryu Matsuki and Finn Azaz adding late goals after Lorent Tolaj had briefly pulled City back into the game.

City had 21 shots to Southampton's 10 and were the better side for long stretches, but the hosts took the chances that mattered. Michael Skubala, the Bristol City manager, said after the match: "The scoreline overshadows it and probably flatters them a little bit."

The result left Southampton with four wins, two draws and a defeat from their first seven league games, while City's run of three straight league wins came to an end.
