Southampton brought Swansea City's unbeaten Championship start to an end with a 3-1 win at St Mary's, goals from Finn Azaz, Cyle Larin and Leo Scienza proving enough despite a second-half penalty from Zan Vipotnik. It was Swansea's first league defeat of 2026-27.
Larin's goal was his fifth in six league games, and the result made it three straight home league wins for Southampton, who have scored 11 goals across them. Tonda Eckert's side began the season with a four-point deduction.
Two Up Before the Break
Azaz put the hosts ahead in the eighth minute. Flynn Downes powered through and Azaz finished low into the corner, having blazed over early on. The goal came from a Ryan Manning throw-in and was the first Swansea had conceded in 449 minutes of league football.
