Macaulay Langstaff stepped off the bench to deliver a ruthless late winner as Millwall snatched a 2-1 victory over Bristol City, completing a December double over the Robins and climbing into the Championship’s top five. Camiel Neghli’s deflected finish had put Millwall in front midway through the first half, only for Adam Randell to level with his first goal for Bristol City shortly after the interval. Gerhard Struber’s visitors enjoyed almost 60 per cent of the ball and racked up 14 attempts to Millwall’s far fewer, but the hosts converted both of their shots on target to end a four-game winless run and finish 2025 in fifth place, dropping City to eighth.

It took only four minutes for tempers to simmer again when Millwall captain Jake Cooper challenged Sinclair Armstrong aerially, leaving the Bristol City forward needing treatment for a head injury and prompting a heated exchange of words between Struber and Alex Neil on the touchline.
