Macaulay Langstaff scored the only goal in the 64th minute as Salford City beat Fleetwood Town 1-0 to go top of League Two.
Salford, winners of four of September's five league fixtures, now lead the table on 16 points from nine matches, one clear of Barnet, Crewe Alexandra and Cheltenham Town. They had not beaten Fleetwood in their four previous league meetings, drawing three and losing one, while Fleetwood have now lost three in a row.
Chances at both ends
Salford should have led early. Langstaff burst into the box in the seventh minute but fired wide. Fleetwood had their own openings, with Will Norris touching a Murphy effort onto the post, and Mark Helm then sending a long-range shot over the bar.
