Walsall ended MK Dons' unbeaten start to the season in League Two with a narrow 1-0 win at Stadium MK, Charlie Lakin's goal just after half-time settling a tight contest.
The result gave the visitors a fourth victory from their opening six games of the season, while the hosts were left to rue a glaring missed chance moments before they fell behind.
