Goals in either half from Eli Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott earned Bournemouth a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, ending the Cherries' five-month wait for a Premier League away win and giving them back-to-back league victories for the first time since September.
Wolves thought they had made the ideal start when Mateus Mane headed in after seven minutes, only for the flag to go up for a marginal offside against Rodrigo Gomes in the build-up. Rob Edwards' side went on to create a string of second-half openings, hitting the woodwork through Joao Gomes, but Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth showed greater ruthlessness at both ends and sealed the points through Scott in stoppage time.
Early Wolves joy turns to frustration
Bournemouth arrived in the Midlands buoyed by a last-gasp win over Liverpool and a recent upturn that had also seen them end an 11-match winless run against Tottenham. Wolves, by contrast, were looking to respond to a comprehensive defeat at Manchester City which had halted a four-game unbeaten league run, but Edwards had called on his players to match the Cherries' trademark intensity and they responded with a bright opening.
