Jack Payne scored a late winner as Colchester United beat Accrington Stanley 2-1 in a game watched by former Chelsea defender John Terry, who is reportedly part of a consortium in talks to buy the Us.
Payne fired home in the 86th minute from substitute Romeo Akachukwu's cutback to settle a contest that had swung both ways and to secure a third successive win for Colchester.

Colchester had hit the woodwork early on through Harry Anderson, but it was Accrington who took a 33rd-minute lead when Shaun Whalley collected Devon Matthews' pass and twisted and turned in the area before striking low past Matt Macey and into the far corner.
