Jimmy-Jay Morgan scored the only goal in the 35th minute as West Bromwich Albion beat Watford 1-0 at The Hawthorns, Harry Whitwell setting up the finish after Isaac Price had stretched the visitors' defence.
It was Morgan's third league goal of the season, and it gave Albion back-to-back league wins over Watford for the first time since 2007. Watford, who had fielded a patched-up defence, were left to reflect on a string of chances that never became a goal.
Morgan Settles a Scrappy First Half
Watford made the brighter start. Othmane Maamma worked his way into the Albion area inside the opening minutes only for Max O'Leary to save his tame effort. Albion answered almost immediately, Chris Mepham finding Morgan in a near-identical position, but Federico Ravaglia dealt with the low shot.
