Fulham cruised into the third round of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Championship side Bristol City at Craven Cottage, the hosts rarely troubled despite both managers making sweeping changes to their starting line-ups.
Raul Jimenez was at the heart of everything good for Marco Silva's side, pressuring George Tanner into an early own goal before turning in Harrison Reed's corner to settle the tie inside the opening 20 minutes.
Early Pressure Pays Off
Fulham struck after just seven minutes when Timothy Castagne chipped the ball forward to Adama Traore, who controlled it with his shoulder while out-muscling Robins wing-back Ross McCrorie. Traore's volleyed cross was arrowing towards Jimenez when Tanner stretched out a leg to make the block and succeeded only in prodding the ball into his own net.
