Jaydon Banel's 88th-minute goal sealed a dramatic late comeback as Derby County won 2-3 at Queens Park Rangers to keep their Championship play-off dream alive at Loftus Road. The substitute danced through two challenges and arrowed the ball into the top corner to settle a contest QPR had controlled for long spells.
Harvey Vale gave the hosts an early lead before Oscar Fraulo equalised with his first Derby goal. Richard Kone retook the lead for QPR just after the hour, but Sondre Langas's header 14 minutes from time swung the momentum before Banel's winner. The result closed the gap between Derby, Wrexham and Hull City to a single point heading into the final weekend.
Rangers' relentless start
QPR hammered at the Derby goal from the first minute and were almost ahead within five. Jacob Widell Zetterstrom saved from Kone's shot at point-blank range before Vale struck the post with the follow-up. Paul Smyth then tested the Rams stopper from distance as the home side imposed themselves with intensity and aggression in the opponents' half.
