Ipswich Town were forced to share the points with Leicester City in a tight 1-1 draw, as substitute Sindre Walle Egeli cancelled out Patson Daka's first-half strike in a contest decided by fine margins and late controversy. Daka had put the Foxes ahead in the 39th minute with a superb volley, before Walle Egeli levelled 13 minutes from time to ensure the hosts did not leave empty-handed.
Before the goals, Ipswich had struck the woodwork through Dara O'Shea and survived a major scare when Christian Walton denied Harry Winks, while Leicester had to endure long spells of home pressure without being truly opened up. Referee John Busby turned down several strong penalty appeals from the hosts, including a dramatic late claim involving Cedric Kipre and Hamza Choudhury that ended with bookings for Kipre and manager Kieran McKenna.
The result means Ipswich miss the chance to go second and instead drop to fourth, two points adrift of the automatic places, while Leicester remain 22nd after recording a third draw in their last four matches. In a game short on clearcut chances but high on talking points, both sides had reasons to feel they could have taken more than a point.
