Substitute Igor Jesus scored late on as Nottingham Forest boosted their hopes of progressing automatically to the Europa League knockout phase with a 2-1 victory at Utrecht. The striker grabbed the winner just 82 seconds after coming off the bench, slotting in after Dan Ndoye's header had been parried towards him.
Arnaud Kalimuendo had given Forest the lead early in the second half before former Swansea defender Mike van der Hoorn headed the hosts level from a free-kick. The result was a first European away win for Forest since October 1995, while Utrecht remain without a victory in this season's competition after six games.
Dominant start without reward
Forest made a dominant start with eight attempts on goal in the first 20 minutes. Strong saves from Vasilis Barkas kept out strikes from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Douglas Luiz, while Oleksandr Zinchenko fired across the face of goal from seven yards and a goalbound header from Morato was deflected over.
