George Hirst and Marcelino Nunez both struck twice as Ipswich Town produced a ruthless 4-1 Championship victory over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road, finally ending a frustrating run without an away win. The Tractor Boys led inside the opening minutes, were pegged back by Rumarn Burrell's equaliser, and then swept clear in a dominant second-half display defined by Nunez's set-piece quality.
For QPR, it was another damaging afternoon on home turf despite the boost of Ilias Chair's first start since August. Julien Stephan's side responded well to a nightmare start and were competitive for an hour, but quick goals at the start of each half, plus Ipswich's clinical finishing, left them beaten heavily again in front of their own fans, with Rangers having now lost three of their past four matches and won just two of their last 12 home league games.
Lightning Starts and a Measured QPR Response
Ipswich seized the initiative almost immediately. With barely a minute played, Sindre Walle Egeli breezed past teenage left-back Esquerdinha down the right, reached the byline and clipped a cross towards Hirst, who climbed above R's defender Liam Morrison to nod home from close range inside the six-yard box.
