Oldham Athletic are still searching for their first EFL win since April 2022 after being held to a 1-1 League Two draw at home to Colchester United. Since regaining their league status in June, following a three-year absence, the Latics have now been held in both of their fourth-tier fixtures, having also drawn with MK Dons.
Danny Cowley's Colchester took the lead through Jack Tucker and looked the stronger side early on, but Josh Hawkes hauled Oldham level before half-time. A much-improved second-half performance from the hosts ultimately counted for nothing as the visitors clung on for a point.
