Arsenal moved to within one result of becoming Premier League champions as Kai Havertz's first-half header earned a nervy 1-0 win over already-relegated Burnley at the Emirates Stadium. The victory takes Mikel Arteta's side five points clear of Manchester City, who must now win at Bournemouth on Tuesday night simply to take the title race to the final day.
Should Pep Guardiola's side fail to win at the Vitality Stadium, then Arsenal will be crowned champions with a game to spare. Even if City do beat Bournemouth, victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday would still be enough to end a wait for the title that stretches back 22 years to Arsene Wenger's unbeaten 'Invincibles' of 2004.
A Raucous Welcome and a Slow Burn
The team bus was welcomed in by a raucous support, but despite a very attacking line-up put out by Arteta, Arsenal took their time to get going against a Burnley side that arrived on a 16-game unbeaten run. The Gunners had the upper hand from the start without finding the breakthrough, huffing and puffing through most of the opening period.
