Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League with a dominant 3-0 win over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium, the contest effectively settled by half-time on a night when everything clicked for Mikel Arteta's side. Viktor Gyokeres scored twice and Bukayo Saka, making his first start since the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City after an Achilles injury, was the architect of a rampant first-half display.
With Manchester City having been in FA Cup action last week and not playing again until Monday at Everton, Arsenal took full advantage to extend their lead and ease some of the tension that has gripped their season. They also boosted their goal difference to four clear of City and moved one ahead on goals scored, a margin that could prove decisive in the run-in.
Saka Sets The Tone From The Start
Arsenal made the dream start in the ninth minute and it was all about Saka. After working a free-kick short, the England winger received the ball from Myles Lewis-Skelly, cut back on his left foot and tied Raul Jimenez in knots down the right, leaving the Fulham striker on the turf. Saka's low cross across the six-yard box was a beauty and Gyokeres, having timed his run, had the simplest of tap-ins for his 20th goal of the campaign.
