Grimsby sign Brentford forward Iwan Morgan on three-year deal

Grimsby Town have signed the Brentford forward Iwan Morgan on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old arrives after the League Two club sold striker Jaze Kabia to Leyton Orient this summer.

Morgan came through Swansea City's youth system before joining Brentford in the summer of 2023, since when he has been a prolific scorer for the Premier League club's B team, netting 25 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions. He has represented Wales up to Under-19 level.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town, scoring three goals in 21 League Two appearances for the Shropshire club.

"He's a player we've admired for a while and somebody we believe has enormous potential," Grimsby manager Dave Artell told the club website. He joins a forward line rebuilt after Grimsby finished seventh in League Two last season before losing to Salford City in the play-offs.
