Chesterfield put a halt to their four-game winless run with a convincing 4-1 home victory over a struggling Newport County side in League Two.
For Newport, the afternoon brought a ninth defeat in 10 games, leaving them just above the relegation zone in 22nd place. Michael Spellman's goal proved little more than a brief flicker of hope.
Grigg and Dickson Build the Lead
Both sides fashioned early chances, but it took until the 33rd minute for the deadlock to break. Liam Mandeville floated a cross towards the area and found Will Grigg in space, the forward heading into the bottom corner to give the hosts the lead.
