Wolverhampton Wanderers came from behind to beat Stoke City 4-1 at Molineux on Saturday, their third Championship match since relegation from the Premier League. Sam Gallagher gave Stoke an early lead inside the first minute, but Wolves scored four without reply to complete the turnaround.
Rodrigo Gomes levelled in the 18th minute and put the hosts ahead four minutes later with his second goal of the afternoon. Raúl Jiménez extended the lead from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, and Jordan James completed the scoring in the 83rd.
Stoke had two players booked in the first half, Bae Jun-Ho in the 14th minute and Bosun Lawal in the 30th, while Mateus Mané collected Wolves' only caution of the afternoon in the 38th. Sorba Thomas was booked for simulation in second-half stoppage time, but there were no red cards.
It was a third League fixture under new head coach César Peixoto, who replaced Rob Edwards after Wolves were relegated from the Premier League last season. They had opened this Championship campaign with a home draw against Blackburn Rovers before winning away at Preston North End the previous weekend, and Saturday's result kept them unbeaten in the division.
